Player Bio

Family Situation-

I live with my mom here in the USA. My dad, brother, grandma and other close relatives live back in Somalia.

Money is the hardest thing for our family. My mom and older brother send money to Somalia. My dad and brother are trying to come over once they get their passports figured out.

Home Country Situation-

Back home there used to be lots of fighting. In 2008 we moved to Malasia and then moved to America at the end of 2011. My life wasn’t in immediate danger but it was a very unstable environment.

Back home I would go to school and would learn the Quran and I continue to learn it here.

Life in the USA-

I like the food here especially spicy Mexican food and there are lots of cool places here like Lagoon and Disneyland. I have never been to Disneyland but hope to go in the future.

School is hard which is very challenging.

Dreams and goals-

My first dream is to become a soccer player and if that doesn’t work out then I want to be a programmer. I am taking a web design class learning how to code.

Message for the mainstream community-

We are coming in hard and nobody is stopping us.

As told to Refugee Soccer volunteer on 10/30/2016.
